Create your own special pumpkin plate for Halloween with this kit.
 
Turn your child's bum print into a beautiful 'bumpkin'
 
*Please note that our current plate for Bumpkins has a rim.
 
The kit includes:

3 paints in resealable pots
 
2 brushes ( 1 medium for leaves, 1 fine for writing)
 
1 cotton buds for dots (if you wish)
 
1 sponge stick for the edge (or dots if you wish)
 
1 felt tip
 
Sponge for putting the paint on your baby's bottom

Colours: The kit includes orange, lime green and dark green paint.
 
The colours will look pale when you use them but they will become bright and shiny when the pottery is fired.
 
If you have any special requests for colours, please let us know.
 
Please return all the paints and brushes. Please return the pottery to us for firing. 
 
Adult supervision is recommended. It's a great idea to have someone to help you with the print!

Clean your baby's bum with wipes, then wash your child's bum with just water and pat dry.
 
Tip: Before you start: It's a great idea to practise doing the print with water first and then do it with paint!
 
1. Use the sponge to dab paint your baby's bum with the orange paint and press the plate firmly onto the baby's bum.
If it goes wrong, wipe the print off the plate with a damp sponge and have another go.
2. Use the felt tip to plan your writing and to sketch the outline of the pumkin stalk and leaves. You can personalise your plate with your baby's name, add the year, first Halloween etc - it's up to you!
The felt tip vanishes when it's fired. If you're not happy, do it again. The felt tip WILL disappear. It's just for planning. If you want us to paint over your writing, just let us know when you bring the paint back to us for firing.
3. Paint the stalk and leaves - use the lime green first then add detail with the dark green.
4. Use the fine brush to paint over your words . We can do this for you if you wish.
We recommned using the orange or lime green for the writing as these can be wiped off and done again if you make a mistake. The dark green doesn't come off well.
5. Dab around the rim using the sponge stick. It's best to dib the sponge in the paint then dab the excess off on the paper plate before dabbing the edge of the plate.
6. You can add any other dots or decorations that you want! Use the spong stick or cotton bud for dots.
 
Return the pottery, brushes and paints to us.
It will take around one week for your pottery to be fired.
